# TrueOpen Documentation

Learn how TrueOpen coordinates, verifies, and settles AI inference tasks.

TrueOpen is a purpose-built network for AI inference tasks. It coordinates task execution and independent verification, provides a challenge process for disputed results, and settles accepted outcomes on-chain.

## Choose your path

### Understand TrueOpen

Read the [Whitepaper](/whitepaper.md) for the broader network design, including capabilities beyond V1. For current rules, use the [V1 protocol](/protocol/v1.md).

Start with the [Overview](/overview.md), then explore the [system architecture](/overview/architecture.md) and [participants](/overview/participants.md).

### Provide compute

Use the [compute provider guide](/providers.md) to decide whether to run a Cortex Node, prepare the host, join the network, perform duties, monitor operation, and exit safely.

Adapter developers can follow [Model integration](/providers/model-integration.md) within the provider documentation.

### Develop an application

Use the [developer documentation](/developers.md) to submit Tasks, track execution, retrieve results, and challenge an outcome.

### Operate network infrastructure

Use the [network operator guide](/operators.md) for Validator and Builder responsibilities. Compute providers should use the separate provider guide.

### Study the protocol

The [Protocol](/protocol.md) explains design principles, trust assumptions, algorithms, and versioned rules. Its [Task lifecycle](/protocol/v1/tasks.md) follows execution from submission to finality.

### Look up a term

Use [Reference](/reference.md) for terminology and supporting resources.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.trueopen.ai/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
