# Overview

An introduction to TrueOpen, its architecture, and its participants.

TrueOpen is a purpose-built Cosmos SDK application chain for AI inference. A user submits and funds a Task, the network selects a compute provider, independent Verifiers check the result, and the chain settles the final outcome after the challenge process closes.

The design combines off-chain computation and data delivery with on-chain coordination, accountability, and settlement. Transactions, deadlines, and consensus transitions accepted by the chain establish protocol facts. Off-chain services transport data and coordinate work within those rules.

## System map

* [Architecture](/overview/architecture.md) introduces the chain, Nexus, Cortex, and SDK.
* [Participants](/overview/participants.md) explains Users, Validators, Builders, and Cortex Nodes.
* [Task lifecycle](/protocol/v1/tasks.md) follows a Task from admission through finality.

## Choose your path

* [Providers](/providers.md): operate Cortex and supply inference or verification capacity.
* [Developers](/developers.md): integrate TrueOpen Tasks into applications.
* [Network Operators](/operators.md): operate Validator and Builder infrastructure.
* [Protocol](/protocol.md): understand design principles, mechanisms, algorithms, and versioned rules.
* [Reference](/reference.md): look up terminology and published interface information.

## V1 scope

V1 covers a single application chain, Task execution and verification, challenges, settlement, service bonds, model registration, and governance. It is not a general-purpose EVM chain. Future multi-chain designs are outside the documented V1 behavior.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.trueopen.ai/overview.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
